What should be removed from a cache?

Recommended Posts

A lot of people here are arguing over knives.

I'm not going to weigh in on how likely it is for a felon to get that while cleaning or whether kids should be given knives. But it states, in the guidelines, that they are not to be placed in geocaches.

As long as you're enjoying the website, you ought to abide by the rules they set. No knives in caches.

Items available to children fall into 3 categories:

1. Things that are not safe for them to have

2. Things that are safe for them with supervision

3. Things that are safe for them to have

The process of raising children from infancy to adulthood involves moving things from category 1, through category 2 to category 3. Placing items in a cache ignores the truth that category 2 is not defined by age, but by maturity.
