lumbricus
Hi, this thread is for T5 experiences, let's share adventures! GC2X31D - GOLIATH T5 - Event - Durch die Entenlochklamm GC32HDM - Im Tal der Wölfe Quote Link to comment
Touchstone
Rated 4.5T, but I've done easier 5's than these, and better views besides Peak-A-Boo: Mt. Whitney Semidome Loft, Yeah! Quote Link to comment
lumbricus
Nice! Today we did a T5 Multi (no name, because I don't want to spoil) high up in the mountains: We had much fun! lumbricus Quote Link to comment
terrkan78
My only real T5. Wolf Rock, Oregon. There's a class 2-3 route (and maybe that sort of disqualifies it as a "true" T5), but it was by far the most technical stuff I've ever attempted. No, I don't think anyone uses safety gear on the Class 2-3 route (or at least it seems that way from the logs/photos). There are class 5 routes up the rock for real rock climbers, and after experiencing the headiness of being up top, I've toyed with the idea of taking some classes to learn how to really climb. I loved it. Was scared *less, but loved it. Quote Link to comment
Touchstone
On our way to pick up our son from Summer Camp near Tahoe, we made a short detour to grab The Dragons Teeth Quote Link to comment
lumbricus
@Touchstone: Great climbing spot! Here are two climbing pictures, one from training and the other picture from a possible future geocache. This was one of my scariest climbs ever. The route was getting too difficult for me, so I had to cross to an easier route about 5-6 meters diagonal. As I reached the bolt the belt friction was so strong that I hardly couldn't hang in the rope, but in the end I did it. Better don't image the possible fall. Quote Link to comment
Touchstone
OK, if we're going to play that game Here's an alternate to the cable approach to GC9614: Edit to add: There's actually some real advantages to approaching the virtual this way, least of which is no permit/lottery required. Weekends can still be crowded on the route, but weekdays are usually pretty casual. Edited May 24, 2014 by Touchstone Quote Link to comment
AustinMN
Rock The Boat, You Get Wet. Part of the cache description states that an incorrect approach will get you arrested. Quote Link to comment
thebruce0
Bushwacker, and older 5/5 in Ontario. Probably not up to some of today's 5T standards, but it was a significant hike, and wow was it a beautiful hike in perfect weather! 3 of us did the all day hike in and out January 1st (I've actually done this hike twice now too) Edited May 28, 2015 by thebruce0 Quote Link to comment

Viajero Perdido
In Taiwan, this only counts as 2.5. (Never had the nerve to see what a Taiwanese 5 looks like.) They're made of tuff stuff over there! Quote Link to comment
