Looking to become a volunteer

Hello Geocaching world,

 

we live in the north devon area and would like to become volunteers and connect with other north devon cachers

Hi there and welcome. Not sure what it is you want to volunteer for........

 

There are several ways to meet other cachers. You could either join the Devon Geocachers group on Facebook or look for an event in your local area. If you go to hide and seek on the main geocaching page, look under advanced search and thenyou can look for events near to home.

If you're volunteering to be a Reviewer (the folks who check locations on a map and publish - or not publish - caches) then I think they come knocking for you in the middle of the night with an offer you can't refuse

Does anyone else wonder if they've been considered without their knowledge?

 

Perhaps there's a list of people who will now never be asked. And I wonder if I'm on it. I think I have the qualities to be a reviewer even if the wish is not there.

I've been told I'm on a blacklist, but have no actual proof. I'm sure everyone's a 'Maybe' until proven otherwise, and people are approached but turn the invite down for their own reasons.

I'm definitely on it; there's nothing more sure than that.

Reviewers tend to only be chosen if they are expirenced, well respected and not on the "blacklist".

I suspect I'm on the black list with you Simply Paul & Pharasie, which is probably not a bad thing as I struggle to log my own finds let alone reviewing others caches

I'm not on any blacklist that I know of but with skin as thin as rice paper, an idiot tolerance threshold of diminutive proportions, mildly controversial opinions and the narrowest set of shoulders imaginable, I don't think I would make the grade. I take my hat of to all of them, past present and future.
