Nuvi For Gettuing There

When I load a PQ onto my Nuvi 40 it only shows the code name. Is there any other Nuvis out there that would put the cache name or is there a way to set it up to put the name?

GSAK has a generic Nuvi export plus a number of macros including one that exports it as favorites so they show on the screen while driving. Then of course you can set the Nuvi alerts to beep within the prescribed distance.

I have a few Nuvi 780's and GSAK sends the caches to them just as it does my handhelds ( no macro ).....it loads them to the 780 as favorites and the cache icon remains visible on your screen even when zoomed out ( when loaded as a POI you can only see the cache icon when zoomed in to about 200'...almost useless )....before I had paperless handhelds I would load them to the Nuvi both as favorites and poi's.....the poi had all the cache info. and I still had great cache icon visibility.

I use a GSAK macro that loads caches as POI's for my 2595LMT.

 

I found a way to trick the GSAK macro into thinking the microSD card inserted into my laptop is actually the Nuvi, so I can export to the card and not directly to the Nuvi.

 

I then insert the microSD card into the slot on the Nuvi and opt not to copy the information to the internal memory when prompted.

 

It's worked well so far.
