Tuena Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 A Geocaching Australia Locationless cache GA 1278 - Wind Power. The photo is of a wind farm overlooking Lake George near Canberra on a misty day. 1 Quote
Tuena Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Another Geocaching Australia Locationless cache GA1438 - Sunrise. I took this photo from 7 Mile Beach south of Shoalhaven Heads. I was walking to a Geocaching Australia traditional cache I'd hidden on Comerong Island, a return distance of 12 kilometres. The cache is now listed with Groundspeak as Comerong GC3Q5H9. 1 Quote
van der Decken Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Allendale Lake Algonquin Bluffs: even on a gloomy, misty morning there is beauty to be found. Devil's Gap: taken on a hike through the first snowfall of the season. Brass Cap Cache: foul weather looked to be moving in from the west, but it never actually amounted to anything other than a dramatic backdrop. Cox Hill - A Cache for Susan: a well placed red pine on one of the final pushes up Cox Hill. 2 1 Quote

threenow24 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) I took this about a year ago with my iPhone doing MINER'S LAKE EARTH CACHE (GC1TR39) in Ely, MN. The sun had just come up over the hills on the shore, the snow was sparkling like diamonds. The pristine snow and ice showed where a lone deer had crossed the lake. The little white spot bugs me, I guess I should figure out how to use a photo editor. (edit to fix link to cache) Edited January 30, 2017 by threenow24 1 1 Quote

blindleader Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 (edited) On a normal day,the hang gliders would land a couple minutes later 1,600 feet below, next to the road between Tiger and Squak Mtns. Stepping off. But when just the right wind funnels up between Tiger and Squak... On their way. they can fly north along the Cascades till the sun goes down. I just wonder if they have an informal agreement with SeaTac tower. I sort of doubt they carry Mode C transponders or radios for talking to ATC. Those specs, just a few of many that day, passed through KSEA Class B airspace if they got above 5,000 feet. Edited June 28, 2017 by blindleader Quote

Viajero Perdido Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 On my jet-lag day in Seoul, I attended a geo-event at 2:30pm, then headed up the adjacent mountain for "a few caches". I got carried away, and proceeded right to the top, stopped only by a fence around a villain fortress on the summit. Found a fantastic multi, MISSION GEOCACHING, nearby, then got down the mountain on the double. No time for any other caches (I tried a bit, but had to run), and made it down by headlamp. A sunbolt came through, and I snapped this about halfway down: (That's the new Lotte World Tower, 5th highest in the world at 123 stories.) Sometimes you wish there were Platinum Favorite Points. +geodarts Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 (edited) We were in the Mojave to visit the Cow Cove petroglyphs, and found ourselves close enough to detour to D is for Desert Phone Booth. We followed a sandy/rocky road seemingly in the middle of nowhere, to track down the legendary site. On the way back, the sun was setting and the desert sky became alive with color. +geodarts Posted December 16, 2018 Posted December 16, 2018 A View From Below brought us to the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma where John Lewis and other marchers faced a line of officers as they set out to walk from Montgomery - redefining courage and changing a nation. We came to the area to see the bridge, to remember and rededicate ourselves, following the civil rights trail to Montgomery. This cache was an important part of our visit. 1 1 Quote

Viajero Perdido Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 This one sums up Hong Kong caching so perfectly. Hong Kong has literally hundreds of caches like this, and that pretty much explains why I now go back there annually. Last time, I convinced a couple of buds to join me: an avid cacher (look closely), and an occasional one who's happy to go along for the walks. 2 Quote
