After a maintenance visit to the cache site, you can log a Owner Maintenance... and the wrench will disappear.

After a maintenance visit to the cache site, you can log a Owner Maintenance... and the wrench will disappear.

In particular, filing an Owner Maintenance log to explain what you did to fix the problem -- or that you visited the cache and found that there really was no problem -- tells the system that the cache no longer needs maintenance. The important thing is what you put in the Owner Maintenance log. The fact that the OM log automatically removes the wrench is just gravy.
