L&ACarr
I wonder if anyone can advise me whether the Garmin Dakota 10 is a good GPS to go for? If not are there any that people would particularly recommend? Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment
+BAMBOOZLE
I would not buy a Dakota 10. The Oregon 450 and Garmin 62S are premium units that have been reduced of late, in some cases well below $200. Many like the Etrex 20 and 30 if you can get one appreciably cheaper than the above two. Quote Link to comment

+wrightexplorers
It depends on your budget and what functions you want. I think the Dakota 10 is the cheapest GPS worth considering, and it's worked just fine for me. If someone lent me an Oregon I might yearn for one, but to some extent what you've never had you don't miss. You can get a Dakota 10 for £95 on Amazon, the Oregon 450 is well over £200, as is the 62S. The etrex 20 is a bit more expensive and has some better features than the Dakota 10, with the main other differences being GLONASS compatibility and the joystick rather than the touchscreen. For each person there's a different answer... Quote Link to comment
