Making a TB/GC Discoverable Only

At one point in time, I read instructions as to how to make a TB or Geocoin Discoverable only. However, I can not find those instructions, and my search results are not getting me the info. I would like to know. If someone could provide a link or instructions as to how to do this when setting up the TB/GC, I would really appreciate it.

Try this:

1. Edit your Trackable.

2. Select the checkbox "Make this Trackable collectible". Submit Changes.

3. On the right-hand column of the Trackable's page, select the Action "Move it to your Collection" in the drop down list of Actions. Click "Go".

 

You may then mark it Not Collectible if you wish. "Collectible" Trackables can be added to any cacher's Collection in certain situations. In your case, it probably won't matter, but I think it's just a good policy to mark a Trackable "Not Collectible" when not actively trying to get the Trackable moved to a Collection.

 

When it's in your Collection, some menu items go away. Cachers can log a note or Discover.

Here it is, in a nutshell...

 

The trackable must should be in your possession.

 

1] On the trackable page, select "Edit This Trackable".

3] Return to the trackable page.

4] Beneath Actions, select "Move to Collection". [Go]

 

The trackable is now in your Collection and nobody may log anything other than a Note log or a Discovery log... including you.

Thanks for the thread. I had a unpublished cache that got archived. Now I'm inspired to move my geocoins to my collection.

I would assume this is for trackables that you are not planning to send out into the wild. Example: car decal, a tag for your dog, a shirt etc.
