LeMecque
Hi I have a plan for a new multi cache, but had a couple of questions regarding it, concerning both the location of the feeder information and the final cache itself. On the 27th December 2013 I sent an email asking for advice and clarification to the reviewer who had published my previous caches, but 10 days later I have still not received any reply. I know they are active, as I have seen them publishing, archiving and performing admin on caches over the New Year period. What should I do next? Should I 'chase' the reviewer I already sent a message to, or try submitting my question to another? Is this even something I should be doing, or should I just try submitting the cache for review and take a chance on it being rejected? Any advice would be very welcome... TIA Quote Link to comment
+Isonzo Karst
Hello LeMecque - If you want locations checked, please create a cache listing with your coords - if several, add them as waypoints, stages of a multicache type (assuming physical placements by you). Title the cache "Coordinate Checking ONLY", and add any questions as reviewer notes. Explain that you;re pre-checking locations, the cache is not in place, and have questions about cache locations and design. Try to be complete about cache design questions, but also concise. If you write up the cache as you intend for it go out, that allows the reviewer to really see what your plans are. You can enable this, it puts on the review queue, and makes it available to whichever reviewer for your area has the time to deal with it. http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=199 See the last part of this article. When you ask a reviewer check locations, assuming you send coords, they have to create a cache page to do it. As you're the one needing the listing, you might as well do it. Re Dec 27 - Jan 6 --- it's a holiday, with volunteers perhaps traveling or entertaining family and at the same time, cachers being rather busy with new hides. Good luck ! ------------------- (I answered this from my player account, my other account is a reviewer account.) Info below for forum readers, not so much for you, LeMecque 2 more things on emailing reviewers with coordinate checks: Some percentage of such requests come from "noreply" - to answer I must log onto the players account and email through the site. I will do this, but I'm not thrilled about it. Let me have your email address, please Some percentage of such requests send coords that are clearly wrong: in the Atlantic, wrong country, or are so vague as to be unanswerable. "Can I place a cache in Big Oak Park?" no city, county ??? ;-) Edited January 6, 2014 by Isonzo Karst Quote Link to comment
