4evrCking
Hi, I have had a Blackberry Playbook Tablet for quite some time now and just recently got into geocaching. The Playbook does not have a USB port and relies souly on communication with my PC to transfer files. I would like to be able to use a tablet to connect GEOCACHING.COM through WiFi and then download/send selected sites to my GPS (Garmin Oregon 450) by the tablet's USB port for paperless caching. By doing this I would be able to eliminate the need of taking a laptop on vacations. I am willing to buy a new tablet. Does anyone know which tablet supports connection of a GPS for paperless caching? Thanks in advance. 4evrCking Quote Link to comment
Walts Hunting
I can't give you specifics but pretty much every Android tablet in existence allows it. The phones also allow me go download pqs to my gps. Quote Link to comment
dizzabella
I have a Lenovo tablet and the USB ports or plugs are not the right size to plug my GPSr to it. It has the same size plugs as a playbook. Quote Link to comment
JohnCNA
All you'll need with an Android tablet is to get an OTG cable to interconnect the tablet and Garmin to transfer GPX files or PQ's. I do this frequently with a Nexus7 tablet or GS3 phone and my Garmin. I think I paid about $5 or so for mine on Amazon. Quote Link to comment

4evrCking
Hi, From what I understand, any Android tablet that has a USB port should do the trick. Thanks for your help. Best regards, 4evrCking Quote Link to comment
andyakashrek
OR,use the playbook to cache with. I use 'Cachesense' on my playbook and Z10. You can always find a free wifi connection somewhere to download nearest caches or download them in advance. The playbook has gps or you could enter the co-ords manually into the gpsr. You can then go paperless and post logs to the website from the playbook, download logs,pq's,images etc and if I bridge to the z10 I can do this in the field providing I have cell coverage. I also have a gpsr but the playbook, z10 combination is a lot more versatile. Also you can log into the Groundspeak website in a second open window to read the forums. Quote Link to comment
