I always notice how great minds think alike...

Here are some comments in the FB post, which might say there are more than have been documented

Kathleen Allen Thanks for the link. I knew about these arrows but didn't have a good source of info before. Wednesday I will share this with my Science Olympiad mapping students. They're gonna love it.

Especially since the quad maps are listed for the arrow l...See More

Dan Andrella When this was brought up a few months back I checked to see if any were down here and there wasn't. I'll look into it again.

Janel Lynn Krauss I found a location for one in Delta. I couldn't see it from google but these are the coordinates that the NGS Gave 41 33 51.81420(N) 084 05 42.98015(W) Pretty cool one was in our back yard!!

George W. Lathrop Very interesting. I think there was an arrow on top of the Commodore Perry Hotel that point airplanes toward Metcalf Field. It was not related to the post office, but it did serve the same purpose.

Kathleen Allen There was one in Fulton Co. (home of the MWGB) but I didn't look at the NGS data sheet to see if it was there the last time Uncle Sam schecked.

Dan Andrella That MB2935 one was a four legged steel structure and sat 50 feet high on Richfield's highest point. Bet that one was scrapped long ago. The sat image on Google shows a young clump of trees and a large pine. Rex C. is closer, he should take a Sunday drive by and check it out.

Dan Andrella The MB2704 is simply a rotating beacon l(ight) atop the old Goodyear Blimp hanger at Akron Fulton Airport. Standard beacon found at most airports.

Rex Cassidy Very cool list of old beacons. It is not a complete list of all the arrow sites as it omits several Ohio counties where there had to be beacons such as Erie, Ottawa and possibly Sandusky. I don't remember seeing the beacon tower in Richfield but know the spot well. It is off 176 not 21 and just south of a giant eagle. GCTT9N was right across the street. Thanks sharing this!

That list of beacons posted on FB was beacons not necessarily arrows. Most were towers with lights it appears. If any that were posted were found they could be listed in the U.S. Benchmark category as all listed on the NGS database with PID's
