+PilotMan
Hi, I will be in Hill City, SD next week and was wondering if there any must hit caches in the area? I'm also bringing a medium sized travel bug with me so I'm looking for something it may fit in (ammo box, large tupperware container). Thanks for your help. Quote Link to comment
+Nomads For Now
There are all types of caches in the area. Here is the link for caches. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?tx=9a79e6ce-3344-409c-bbe9-496530baf758. There will be plenty for travel bugs to fit in. Good luck! (can't tell you which ones are the best as I haven't done too many in that area. I'm slowely working my way there.) Quote Link to comment
+IBcrashen
We loved the 1880 flume trail cache. You can also get Near the Lake cache on the same hike. Paradise Valley View, Teddy Roosevelt Cache, guano cache, Goldn 50th, Gold Mountain Mine Cache , Campcache are also caches we enjoyed while we stayed in Hill City last year. Some of those are a drive to get to though. Quote Link to comment
Ted's Trekkers
We did one not too far from Hill City called Split Rock Frustration. The GPS bounced around a lot, we got a little frustrated, but oh what a great feeling when we finally found it!! Quote Link to comment
+PilotMan
Thanks for all the replies. I just got back from the trip and visited the split rock cache. It was just down the road from the KOA campground/ lodge we were staying at. Very nice area. Quote Link to comment
