+StripyJules Posted October 11, 2013 Share Posted October 11, 2013 I've just tried to edit my notifications to increase the search area for newly published caches, and it doesn't seem to be happening. As I try to edit, the site tells me that my changes have been saved in the system, but two of the three I wanted to change haven't, they have reverted to my original setting and the third one seems to have picked a random number, certainly not the distance I wanted. Is there a restriction on distance? I checked the 'detailed instructions' link on the notifications page and it didn't show one; or is there some kind of blip? Quote Link to comment

I have always been under the impression that the max distance was 50 miles. Testing this, I just created a new notification and set it to 500 miles. After saving, it was reset to 49.7096953789867. I'm guessing that there is a whole number metric equivalent. Quote Link to comment

I just looked it up in the help centre and it doesn't seem to state a limit anywhere there, either. Either it was in the help files at one point, or I tried for a bigger distance and it reset to 50. It may have even been stated in the original release notes thread when notifications were introduced. I remember creating a CITO notification years ago and setting it to 50. I never looked at it again, but looking now, it is actually 49.7096953789867. All of my others are for smaller distances. Quote Link to comment
