Logging a TB visit on a DNF cache

Hello all,

 

I went looking for a cache today that I did not find. I am certain that I was at the GZ. I also had a TB on hand. I want to know if it's okay to log a TB visit, even though I didn't find the cache. Before I posted this thread, I saw a similarly titled thread that was just posted and checked on it to see if it was the same question I had. It was however saying that on their cache, another cacher who logged a DNF logged TB visits also, which the OP of that thread was saying should not be allowed.

 

Is this allowed? It should be, since you're AT the GZ, with the TB. If precise accuracy of location is a matter, note that unknown caches can put accuracy off by up to 2 miles.

If the website allows it I see no reason it shouldn't be. Seems strange but not worth getting the knickers in a bunch over.

If the cache is a puzzle without a checker, you can't be sure you were at ground zero, other than that, you're probably right.

I personally don't do it, but I don't see much of a problem with it. You might want to check with the cache owner and TB owner first to make sure they're okay too.

I don't know how a TB could "visit" a cache you didn't find, but it's your game. Play it the way that makes the most sense to you.

Why would you want to do this? What purpose does it serve to "visit" a cache that you didn't find?
