ArtMan Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I've been submitting photos to NGS via DSWorld for a while now. Anyone know if NGS wants or will accept photographic documentation of azimuth marks or reference marks? The naming and labeling conventions don't seem to provide any guidance. I normally photograph Azimuth Marks, and sometimes Reference Marks. for my logs on Geocaching.com, so it's little extra effort to provide these to NGS as well. ArtMan Quote
DaveD Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 There no real reason to submit photos and/or hand-held GPS positions for Reference Marks or Azimuth Marks unless they have either an ADJUSTED NAD 83 horizontal position (in which case you don't need the HH position) or an ADJUSTED NAVD 88 "ORTHO HEIGHT." While all these marks have a PID, unless one of those positional components is ADJUST NGS does not publish a datasheet for that mark. Quote
