cizzors
Hi, anyone know the exact weight, drmensions and type of metal a traditional travel bug is not including the chain. I'm in the process of getting permission to send one on a special journey and need this info. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Gitchee-Gummee
Wow! Sounds like a moon-shot to me... maybe even Mars! Sorry, back to Earth now... I don't have the equipment necessary for exacting measurements, but if you were to take a tag to a jeweler, they could get all of that data for you. Their carat scales would weigh it accurately, 1 carat = 200 mg. Their measuring calipers should do very well in the dimension department. The (current) tag is aluminum. Rim thickness will vary as I see they are roughly stamped (unfinished edges) and not uniform. Edited September 12, 2013 by Gitchee-Gummee Quote Link to comment
BlueDeuce
.02 oz/5 grams using my scale. (somewhere in-between) 2 1/4 x 1 1/8. I'll have to look for a metric ruler. Quote Link to comment
cizzors
I'm trying for the international space station cache, your close. Thanks for the info. Quote Link to comment
desmognathus
You could shave the weight down by trimming the tag down to just the number. I've heard of people making micro TB's that way. Quote Link to comment
BlueDeuce
Reminds me of a comedian talking about taking a puddle-jumper in Alaska. "Sir, how much do you weigh" "What for?" "So we can determine how much fuel we need". "Fill it up. I'll pay!" Quote Link to comment
