+MartyBartfast Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 On the main forum recently there was discussion about reviewers clamping down on "GSAK 101" events, which had previously been allowed, but were now being more tightly policed under the "commercial" guideline. I've just seen a thread on here asking for help with GSAK locked, again these have been fairly common subjects for discussion in the past but it seems they nolonger are. It's almost as if GS has issued a dictat that GSAK shouldn't be discussed any more, any passing reviewer or moderator care to comment? Or will we also see threads asking for help with Google maps, Firefox, GPSs, etc being closed and the poster recommended to go somewhere else for help? Just wonderin....... Quote
+castagnari Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 No "beef" that I'm aware off. It's always been the policy of GC to direct GSAK questions/discussions to GSAKs own forums. Quote

Sorry to disagree here, but a search with the words "Help GSAK" turned up a result of 40 pages. With help being asked for and offered in different forums. Quote
I! Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 No "beef" that I'm aware off. It's always been the policy of GC to direct GSAK questions/discussions to GSAKs own forums. It seems, by your implementation of the policy, that GC wish to prevent discussion of GSAK here. Why's that? Quote

Yep I saw that too, and they've never been locked until yesterday.... Quote
+ivanidea Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Maybe Groundspeak are planning on selling their own software in competition to GSAK? Quote
+londontavern Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) Yep! and I expect it will cost $10 dollars if you have an address in the USA, @£50 in the UK and @90 Euros if you live anywhere else in the world. I can hear their 'top notch' international marketing team discussing it now over a coffee in Seattle. Edited August 22, 2013 by londontavern Quote
+Delta68 Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 I have to agree that it's blummin' heavy handed locking a thread about FindStatsGen! FindStatsGen goes hand-in-hand with caching and if Groundspeak's own stats pages weren't so pathetic there would be no need for anyone to use it! The OP or other cachers might have wanted to comment on the Project-GC link I posted or is that verboten as well? Mark Quote
