+linuxmonkey
Hi guys and gals, I just bought the Garmin GPSMAP 62SC and the pre loaded map seams to be quite horrid for Canada. Are there any suggestions? Should I buy the seperate canada topo or do you know of a better map for Canada? Thanks Quote Link to comment
+Calypso62
When I travelled to Canada last year, I just downloaded the map from OpenStreetMap. I thought it worked extremely well. Here is a link: http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/ Quote Link to comment
+luvvinbird
I have a 62s, a similar GPSr to yours. I purchased Garmin's City Navigator NT North America map on micro SD card which is far more detailed than the very basic base map which comes with the unit. The nice thing about the micro SD card is that it can be used in any of the Garmin receivers I own, such as my eTrex 20 that I'm presently using while on vacation here in Washington DC. The same version on DVD will lock it to one receiver only. Quote Link to comment
+Team Periwinkle
i have never used it, but it is mentioned a lot in conversations about maps for Canada: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/21/ Quote Link to comment
