Go here: http://www.geocachin...nt/default.aspx

 

In the top left box 'Your profile' click on 'Edit' (at the top of the box) then scroll down to 'Profile details', put in the signature details you want, then scroll to the bottom and 'Save changes'.

All I have in the top left is VISIT GEOCACHING.COM - FORUMS - MEMBERS.

 

That's it. No profile or edit or anything...

 

 

Make sure you're signed in.

Make sure you're logged in, then go to your profile, as linked to by Mrs. B.

 

Logged into the forums is a separate thing than logged into geocaching.com

Go to your account page: http://www.geocaching.com/account/

In the box titled "Your Profile" is a link titled "edit": http://www.geocaching.com/account/editprofile.aspx

 

Click "edit". Halfway down the resulting "Manage Your Profile" page is "Forum Signature". Fill it out and click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page.

 

To complete the changes, log out of the Forum, then log back in.

You're showing an image of the forum page. That's not the place we're trying to direct you to make changes.

 

The confusion arises because the forums are not the place to make changes to your account details/profile. It's not where you create/edit your sig line, etc.

 

Follow the instructions above to get to your profile on the geocaching.com site.

 

Here is the link once again:

Click "edit" in the top right corner, "opposite" from where it says "Your Profile".

Why say I CAN 'Edit my settings, such as signature, avatar and more' so enticingly (see screenshot) if that's not where you do it? Particularly if there is then nothing to direct you to where you CAN?

Having never attempted to change anything in my account details through the dropdown menu on the forum page, I gave it a try.

 

Yes, you can edit your account details that way...you have to do a lot more clicking to do it.

 

Forum page dropdown menu: first option "My profile"

 

Click that, takes you to http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?id=367340

 

Click "edit your profile", right beside your username.

 

Takes you to http://www.geocaching.com/account/editprofiledetails.aspx

 

Scroll down to the bottom of that page. There you will see radio buttons "save", "cancel" and a link titled "view/edit your account".

 

Click the "view/edit your account" link and get taken to http://www.geocaching.com/account/default.aspx

 

That's the link that has been posted in this thread more than once.

 

So, yes, you can edit your sig line by using the dropdown menu on the forum page, but it's a lot easier to just go to your account details page and do it.

 

Bookmark the account details page if that makes it easier still.

I have done everything suggested and I can't get it to work. It shows up on my profile, but doesn't appear on my posts. I've logged out and in again, still nothing. :(

 

Logged out and in of What/Where? Your user name and password are the same for Geocaching.com and the Forum, but they are NOT the same log in. Did you log out and back in to the FORUM?

Hmmmm.... i cant seem to get mine to work either...

 

Log OUT of the forums, log back IN to the forums... Usually solves it!

 

Sigs wont show images... And you need to 'close' whatever you 'open'

 

eg You have (visit link)

Your missing a ']' after img, and it needs a 'close' of [/img] at the end.
