castrobuscato
Hi, I'm Francesc (from Catalonia-Spain). I would like to have a database of my waypoints of interest in a way that they are available from any place with internet connexion (laptop, smartphone, etc.). For the moment I have tried to do this using Google Earth, but I think these waypoints are stored locally and not on the cloud (I'm not able to access them from Google Earth in my smartphone). What would you recommend me ? thanks in advance Quote Link to comment

castrobuscato
The newest versions of Basecamp allow you to store data in the cloud (if you have a Garmin) Thanks. I'd like to know if Basecamp allows to retrieve the data using your Android smartphone. Thanks again and best regards ! Quote Link to comment

I'm not very familiar with GPX format (I just know KML). Is GPX only valid for Garmin GPS or is it valid for any GPS and smartphone? Moreover, ¿could I easily organize my favorite waypoints in GPX files and thus keep them in a Dropbox folder and easily access them from a computer / smartphone or even with a GPS with WiFi connection? thanks in advance and best regards ! +Redwoods Mtn Biker
GPX is a common format used on almost all GPS receivers. You can use Dropbox for KML files too. AFAIK you can't currently access them using a GPS with WiFi. Quote Link to comment
