+AzzAndJadey Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Hi everyone, My wife and I are Geocachers from Melbourne, Australia and we'll be living & working in Canada (Vancouver) as of next month. August 17th is International Geocaching Day (in Australia at least) but I haven't seen any events scheduled in BC & I was hoping there will be one so we can meet some local cachers? If anyone knows of any events in or near Vancouver could you please direct me to it? Thanks and hope to meet a few of you on the hunt soon Quote
+hidnseek Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I will be in seattle for the block party that day. If you want to go to that, there are buses, train think 3 hrs travel time or drive, between seattle and Vancouver. I will be in Vancouver area the 1.5 weeks after. Visiting from Ottawa. Quote

+6NoisyHikers Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 The only event close to Vancouver on that day is the 31 Days of Geocaching Booster Event #3 and that takes place on Vancouver Island. If you are looking to meet a lot of local cachers, the Metro Vancouver Geocachers are hosting an event on August 14th: Summer Fun: Watching the sun go down, again. There is sure to be a heap of Vancouver's most infamous cachers in attendance Quote

It would be a heck of a way to introduce yourselves to your new caching neighbours. Wouldn't be the first time someone hosted an event in their new location. I've seen folks host an event in an area that wasn't their local area just because they were passing through town. B. Quote
