+TEAM 360
Went to get a benchmark today, and it was supposed to be near an intersection out in the country. I parked on the side of the road and was walking back and forth across the lane, trying to get a good fix, when this guy and his girl (Biff and Muffy, you know the type) pull up to me in a fancy new Beemer, roll down the window, and ask "Is this road open, or are you guys working on it?". I had my GPS and camera bag along with some printouts and pen in my hand, so I guess he thought I was part of a survey crew. Ha! Revenge time on the Yuppies! "Closed off", I told them, waving my hand, "You have to go around". He rolled up the window and drove off. "Around" meant a 4 mile detour. HA HA! Quote Link to comment
+Team GPSaxophone
That's just wrong! (I like it!) Was it April Fool's Day? Quote Link to comment

I would never have been able to think that fast. It gives me ideas of things whole geocaching 'crews' could do! Keep up the good work! AlphaOp
If you had a generic orange hunting vest it would be perfect! Great story. :-D Quote Link to comment
+wimseyguy
We have an offline local cache here in Raleigh, NC called Full Moon Madness. It is only put out at sundown on the night of the full moon so we can race to log first finds each month. Last night the cache owner misposted the co-ords, leading to these humorous emails: PS I did not get a chance to join in the 'fun' last night. However, last month I did get to it first owing to the fact that he hid it in the garden outside my building(he did not know I work here.) quote: We too visited the construction site. I was a little concerned when the heavy equipment came barreling down the dirt road where our car was parked. We stumbled around for a few minutes until the DOT inspector drove up and asked what was going on. He was extremely polite and was genuinely interested in geocaching and GPS's. He should have some full moon stories to tell today. I wonder how many groups he managed to intercept on that patch of dirt. We called, got the correct coordinates, found the cache and managed a side trip to Krispy Kreme. I have to admit, the first location is one I'd have never visited without geocaching. But it did help us find Jimmy Hoffa. Thanks for a great adventure!!!!! Greg NCTreker Subject: RE: April full moon Yes these original coordinates are in the middle of the US 64 construction near New Hope Church Road. We looked for an hour in the middle of the construction working at night. The DOT inspector wanted to know what we were looking for. Eventually we called and got the correct coordinates. We found the cache easily but we are dusty. These changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes; Nothing remains quite the same. Through all of the islands and all of the highlands, If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane Quote Link to comment
Captain Chaoss
Team 360, I wanna be just like you if I ever grow up ! Yes, that kind of thing certainly would give cachers a bad name, but oh the sweet revenge. LMAO. Definitely worth the trip to hell in the next life. Two roads diverged in the woods and I, I took the one less traveled, and that is how I found the cache. Quote Link to comment
