+OsAg
Yes the browser accept cookies. But i think thats not the problem. It seems like that the update in this field will only be temporary saved. Quote Link to comment
+pri0n
i can confirm this problem - definitely not a cookie or 3rd party software/greasemonkey script issue Quote Link to comment
Moun10Bike
I've confirmed this issue as well and have notified our engineering team. There was a change to the account service over the weekend and that might be a reason that this has occurred. Quote Link to comment
+tkg-bvg
We do have the same problem, but then with Dutch as preferred language. Luckily for us we understand English pretty good. Quote Link to comment
+EricB54
The problem is still the same - default language always changes back to English - please fix it !! Quote Link to comment

Thanks Since short I have the same problem. I always had German in my preferences. Now it is always English. Changing it to German has no effect. After restarting the browser, the default langueage is English again. I tried it with IE and Firefox on several machins Quote Link to comment

+Team de Boer
It seems that the Groundspeaksite can't remember my preferences anymore. I want Dutch as default language and not English. Please fix it??? Quote Link to comment
+Gockelhahn
The problem persists since about 2 weeks now! Please fiyx it or revoke the wasty update! Quote Link to comment
+PereSant
I have the same problem here. Preferred language in my profile is German, and with every new login it changes to default, i.e. English. To be more precise: Not the language mentioned in the profile preferences changes, but the language in which the website actually starts. Sometimes the language changes even during a session. I didn't notice when it started, but I think it was about beginning of June, 2013. It is not so much of a problem, since one click on the language button adjusts it, but it is a nuisance. +J5k
Same problem in Sweden for Swedish. However, the problem can easily be remedied by the quick change of the language on the page, but annoying. Quote Link to comment
+tastom
It's also the same problem for me in Switzerland, the change of the language in the preferences doesn't persist. Please fix this bug, thanks! Tom Quote Link to comment

+dibbyde
So many members have this problem. It must be technically possible to store the selected language. People went to the moon. But can not permanently store account details? Quote Link to comment
+DanPan
FYI: Groundspeak has fixed it. Language preference is now saved between logout/login sessions. Thx! Quote Link to comment
+PereSant
Yesterday's bugfix seems to have done it - it works correctly again! Quote Link to comment

+PhilæCat
I confirme, the bug is back. My preferate language is "French" but all days when I come back on the site the language is back to English. Best wiches for the new year Edited January 1, 2014 by Phil&Cat Quote Link to comment
Moun10Bike
Hello Phil&Cat, Are you by any chance using an app in addition to the web site? Quote Link to comment
+Na+To
I have this problem, too. And it totaly sucks! Not with every visit (auto login) but in random intervals. Sometimes even while a session and sometimes a couple of days later. Can you tell me which cookie is responsible for the manually selected language, for I can fix that by myself? Thank you Quote Link to comment
Moun10Bike
So far, in 100% of the cases we've investigated, this issue is caused by use of c:geo. Quote Link to comment
+Na+To
Thank you. And is there any knowen solution, except abendon c:geo? Quote Link to comment
Moun10Bike
You know that c:geo illegally scrapes the site rather than using the API, right? Quote Link to comment
+Na+To
No I don't. Was that counterquestion a "no"? I'm trying to get familiar to Cachesense for a wile now. As soon as I can handle that diva, I guess I will switch over to it as my default app. Quote Link to comment
+The A-Team
You know that c:geo illegally scrapes the site rather than using the API, right? It would help greatly if TPTB could make an official statement regarding c:geo's violations of the ToU. The Wikipedia article on geocaching has mentioned that app as being a popular one since August 2011, and I'm sure that's pointing a number of people toward using that app. However, we really can't do anything to remove that or give a warning without some kind of source. Currently all we have is word of mouth and forum posts, which aren't acceptable as reliable sources on Wikipedia. If we had an official statement somewhere on this site (not in the forums, but on the site itself or on the Groundspeak site), we could use that and potentially third-party articles that discuss the statement as sources and could finally give people fair warning about what c:geo does. Right now, there's really no way for people not already familiar with the situation to know what c:geo does to circumvent things and what kind of impact that has on the site in general. An official statement saying that it's violating the ToU might even be ammunition for getting it removed from the Google Play store, but I'm not familiar with how that process might work.
