TB Decal milage

I placed a TB Decal on my car while at my home I later went to a cache, the same day, but no mileage was accrued to the TB Decal.

I was under the impression that only the owner could accrue mileage to a decal but now that is in question

Did you first log your TB Decal into a nearby cache? There has to be a starting point from where the mileage begins.

Usually that is the first cache you log it in to.

Did the website know where it was that you started from?

 

It can only calculate mileage from known coordinates to known coordinates -- in this case, caches.

From "nowhere" to known coordinates = Zero.

I log my personal geocoin into every cache I've logged a find on for a few years. It has over 14000 miles in three years. I started it at one of my local hides. It can only log the miles between the 'visited' locations. If your first visit is to the cache you mention, that's where the mileage starts.

OK I can log it into one of my caches close to home, 50 yards, and use that as a base

That's right.

 

You can do that by posting it as a 'note' if you've already logged a find on that cache.

 

Scroll down under the box where you enter your log text and you should see a list of trackables you're currently holding.

 

Select 'visited' for the relevant trackable on this log and then on 'found it' logs for all subsequent caches you want the trackable to visit, in order to accrue the mileage for it.
