Geocaching iPhone App

Recommended Posts

I have been using the official Geocaching app on my iPhone for a while now and have a question regarding what is displayed on the cache page. When I pull up a cache on the app, there is a grey bar under the coordinates that looks to be split into 3 sections. (in the list view of caches, the 3-sectioned bar appears right under the cache title)

When I have logged a cache as 'found' the middle section turns green and the word "Found" appears there. Anyone know what the left and right sections are intended for / what to the track? I though maybe "FTF", but that's not it.

The left side indicates if the cache is a Premium Member Only cache. I honestly don't remember what the right one is, I never see it come up. It's definitely not FTF, that's not an "official" part of the game and isn't tracked in any way on the app or the website.

Oh, OK, I remember now. The right side indicates that the cache is currently Inactive (either disabled or archived). The reason I hardly ever see it come up in the app is when you do a search with the app, inactive caches don't show up in the search results. So you'd only see it if you searched for a particular cache by GC code or something like that. Or maybe if you downloaded in a PQ, I'm not sure.
