+ankmom
I really hope I am not bringing up a topic that is already part of a previous discussion. What I'm wondering is, is there a way to search for trackables that are placed in caches in your area? Quote Link to comment
+T.D.M.22
Yes you are bringing up something that's been discussed. TO find trackable you can view the lis-not map, list-of caches in your area. there are sybomls indication either a TB or a coin is logged in the cache. Remember I said logged as being in the cache, it may not be there for a variety of reasons. If not, at least you found a cache. Quote Link to comment
+ByronForestPreserve
I recently realized that my GPSr has a search option--I can ask it to only show nearby caches with something in the inventory. Other than that, T.D.M22's got it--just search for nearby caches and scroll through the list, looking for anything that has a coin or TB icon. The other thing I haven't tried is creating a pocket query--there's a check box for "And has travelbugs." I dunno how well that works... Quote Link to comment

I'd still like to give active travelers more than three months before considering it lost but you'll probably looking at very old data. No, I will not tell you to look at the drop date because it's ridiculous to give that much effort just to find one. And I a TB advocate. Quote Link to comment
+ByronForestPreserve
Ah, I mean that such a PQ would only be good for the day it was created, because after that, other cachers have probably found many caches on the list and moved on the trackables, which wouldn't be reflected in the PQ. I don't switch out the files on my GPSr often enough for a trackable-based PQ to be very accurate, inventory-wise. Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
Understood. If I have the time I'll run a new PQ rather than relying on even a two day old query. Quote Link to comment
+sddarkman619
We should start putting trackables in ONLY premium member caches, this might help with newbs stealing them that have no premium membership. Quote Link to comment
+aka Momster
After loading the geocaches into my GPSr, I cannot determine the premium member hides from the non-PM hides. Quote Link to comment
+TriciaG
*REDACTED* Realized this is off topic to the original post. Perhaps talking about TBs in premium caches only should go in a new thread. Edited January 4, 2014 by TriciaG Quote Link to comment
