+BarkingAtRainbows
Hi everyone, we are relatively new Geocachers, and we have posted a video on YouTube of our first Geocache find. We haven't identified where the cache was found, or mentioned the name or co-ordinates or anything, we have just filmed opening the cache. We wanted to check that this was ok, as we are not sure of the rules on posting Geocaching videos. Is it ok for us to carry on filming our finds the way we have. This is our video:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qO8ff-Jd1TQ If this is not ok, we will take it down immediately. We watched a video on YouTube where the guy filmed the cache log page on his pc, showing the co-ordinates, then films himself walking straight up to it and finding it, and opening it. To me this goes against the whole rule about keeping caches secret from muggles, because any muggles watching the video can just walk up to it and raid it. I feel sorry for the owner. Here's the link:- Please can anyone give me the do's and don'ts for videos. Is what this guy did ok? Thanks for your help. Barking At Rainbows Quote Link to comment
+coman123
I have posted quite a few Caching videos. My best advice to you is ask the cache owner. If they are OK with it, your good to go Quote Link to comment
+NanCycle
IMO what you are describing is fine. What that other guy did is NOT. Quote Link to comment
+BarkingAtRainbows
Thank you both for your replies. I have emailed the owner of the cache to ask permission to leave our video up. Barking At Rainbows Quote Link to comment
