Lat Long of cache

I see a .LOC file but not the actual Lat/Long of the cache. Is there a

software package to read the .LOC file. I want to manually enter the

Lat/Long manually into my GPS but to do this I need the data.

Thanks

A .loc file contains the lat/long coordinates. Here's an example file for a cache I found a few weeks ago:

<loc version="1.0" src="Groundspeak">
<waypoint>

The Cats of Istanbul by bulcacher

<coord lat="41.007333" lon="28.975917"/>
<type>Geocache</type>

<difficulty>1</difficulty>
<terrain>1.5</terrain>
<container>2</container>
</waypoint></loc

As you can see, the format contains the file contains the gc code, name of the cache, a link to the cache page, d/t ratings and a value which represents the size of the container. The lat/long values are expressed as decimal degrees. Rather than sending this file directly to your GPS, using a waypoint manager such as EasyGPS, Basecamp (for Garmin), or GSAK will manage a large collection of caches that you can send to your GPS as a batch. If you become a premium member you can download caches was a GPX file instead of a .LOC file and you'll get a lot more information about the cache (including full description, recent logs, trackable items, the hint, and much more).
