pmax Posted March 15, 2002 Posted March 15, 2002 Folks, Here's a fun site: http://www.gpsdrawing.com Treat your GPS like an etch-a-sketch. Includes a 3D viewer to include elevation with your dataset. gpsdrawing.com Quote

Parsa Posted April 3, 2002 Posted April 3, 2002 You could have a multiple cache in which the geocacher goes from cache to cache in an area. Then after they've been to all the caches, the points on the GPS receiver will map out a letter or symbol. This could be emailed to the cache owner as proof. Quote
+ESFKids Posted April 3, 2002 Posted April 3, 2002 On a whim, Dave of caching team ESFKids went out and did a quick sketch of a dog. It can be seen on the GPSdrawing site. Since then I've learned a lot about the way my little eTrex gathers and stored tracklog points, and my next drawing should be much better. Tell me what you think! Oh, and I love the idea of having a multicache draw something out. That would certainly add a new element to the whole experience, and be great authentication. Quote

Assuming that everyone follows precisely the same route to the various stages . . . how likely is that? Quote

Or the letter could be a clue to a final waypoint. Quote

Ignore the tracks (or turn them off). What's the letter? Quote
BassoonPilot Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 Yes, I understand how waypoints can create a 'picture,' but I was under the impression that the thread was about 'etch-a-sketch,' and the tracks were an important element of the picture. Quote
