Viajero Perdido
Ever had fun with, um, fudging reality on your geo-pictures? Let's see! I'll start. Above, some of the local characters in my town (except maybe the kid in green), based off something found on the intertubes. (CARW is a local geo-event.) Quote Link to comment

Viajero Perdido
CARW = Cache and Release Winter. We do it annually up here. Twisting by the pole The things you find by the roadside... I gave it a little Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V V V V V. Quote Link to comment
NYPaddleCacher
Here's one that I included on the listing for a cache of mine called "Area 15: Shindagon Hollow". It's located in a state forest where an elaborate mountain biking trail was setup and named "area 51". I elaborated on that theme in the description and provided photos of an alien invasion in the area, including this one: . Quote Link to comment

We have a local puzzle cache based on this classic image: ...which led to this picture on a found-it log: ...which led to this one for a spin-off puzzle: ...which led to this one on a found-it log on the spinoff: Quote Link to comment

CanadianRockies
I called a local geocacher a wimp for not crossing a cold stream to reach a nearby cache. I posted the photo below to show that Ms. CanadianRockies and I had done the crossing a few days after he had declined. When he pointed out that the photo only documented Ms. CR making the crossing, I had to dig up another photo that included my own reflection to prove that I also was in the middle of the creek: Edited May 14, 2013 by CanadianRockies Quote Link to comment
Viajero Perdido
I had fun with pictures for the Ghostcam webcam in Evansville, IN (GCA4C4). I like the subtle ghost imagery. Ghosts aren't supposed to be in your face, right? Speaking of those ghosts, here's an example of life imitating Google Earth: Shot from "Little Athabasca" (informal name), an unimpressive bump that's dwarfed by the real Mt. Athabasca right behind it. It does make one heck of a viewpoint though. Edited May 15, 2013 by Viajero Perdido Quote Link to comment
geodarts
I just keep my eye out for certain things: Slenderman at the Creepy Parq Central Hotel (GC28YYH) Aura Raines (not to be confused with Aura Rhanes). GC3NGPC Aura makes frequent appearances. And of course there are lots of pictures of ghosts, lake monsters, alien space craft, and bigfoot. Edited May 15, 2013 by geodarts Quote Link to comment
Viajero Perdido
I love the moody look of the Slenderman picture. Hmm, I wonder if there's a GIMP filter for that... So we buy cameras with millions of pixels, then decide it's too much and blur things after the fact. Sometimes it works. I haven't decided yet if I like this one, but it seemed "arty" so I posted it. It was a simple GIMP filter whose name I've already forgotten. Definitely looks "shopped" if you look closely. Those dots floating around the edges are a giveaway. Quote Link to comment
Geoscouts.eu
Local cacher: Palelog http://img.geocaching.com/cache/log/0337c0ca-0af4-478c-a0bf-42e61cfa5b72.jpg ... and his brother PaleOrc. Not heard back from him yet Quote Link to comment
Viajero Perdido
Here's that Palelog picture mentioned above: Pretty cool, though the dog's not even paying attention. Another of mine: I brought the camo car (Many people don't realize that if you pull out the hazard-indicator button, it makes the car invisible. It makes sense if you think about it. Push to to be more visible, pull for less.) Quote Link to comment
Viajero Perdido
For a survey-marker virtual, I wanted a context shot without giving away the details on the brass cap. It took a bit of GIMP-learning to pull this one off. I like the result. Note the classic smiley, not the new-and-"improved" one. See that mountain in the distant background? It has a fire lookout on top. Here's a closer shot: The mountain keeper gets stronger with every bolt Weather not exactly as illustrated. Quote Link to comment
Viajero Perdido
That last lightning bolt was fake, but this one is real - sort of. That's exactly what I saw but didn't have the camera ready at the time. So I added a lightning bolt to match the reality of what I saw. (After seeing the lightning I got off the mountain rather quickly.) This was three days ago; the town is Canmore, Alberta, and that's the start of the really bad weather - and bad flooding - they're experiencing right now. Quote Link to comment
