Changing User Name

Hello - we've been considering changing our user name now that we are getting a bit more serious about this geocaching gig. We were just wondering whether logs we have already submitted would show up with our new name or still our old name. Also, how does this affect cache owners tallying up who has seen their cache, as previous finds will have our old name, but computer log might have our new name. We are just wondering how much drama it will cause to change the name now after quite a few finds.

All your logs will show your new name.

 

Some people may be confused for awhile. Any mention of you on any cache pages, such as FTF congratulations, will be in your old name. Anytime someone wrote 'cached with .....', it will show your old name.

 

Overall, I say, go for it and you can always write something on your profile page about your name change to minimize confusion. If you don't like your name, the sooner you change it, the better.
