+mack3r
I have a couple of geocaches that I own that I'd like to transition ownership to someone else, due to the fact that I'm no longer in the area of the caches very often. I'd like to try to have a new cache owner who is local to the caches and can therefore manage them (maintenance etc) far more quicker than I can. Is there an official process for this? Thanks, mack3r Quote Link to comment
+Lil Devil
Just go to http://www.geocaching.com/adopt/ The original owner first goes to that page and "offers" the cache for adoption. The prospective owner will then get an email, with a link. Once he clicks that link to "accept" the adoption, the transfer takes place. Quote Link to comment
+The_Incredibles_
Although there is an adoption utility, as linked by LilDevil, there's no official way to advertise your caches are up for adoption. Best thing is to post a note on the cache page, post a thread on local geocaching forums, and if that doesn't work, you can contact past finders to ask. Quote Link to comment
