Can't access caches from map

I have encountered the problem in the past but it was transient, zooming in or out would usually fix the issue. In both Firefox and Chrome, the cache information is not available when I hover or click on a cache. I have refreshed both, changed maps between Leaflet and Google, closed and open tabs, and zoomed in and out, all to no avail. I see the maps and the cache icons, but cannot get to the cache. System is XP SP3.

problem occurs with either one. It started with the update.

 

Please fix soon or revert to previous map version.

Same issue with Firefox on Vista : pointer shows like a hand when going over map, no popups with cache info when going over the cache icons

 

Same issue with IE on Vista : pointer shows like an arrow here, no popups

just encountered the same issue with Firefox 20.0.1 or IE 10.0 on Windows 8 and Leaflet-Map

mousepointer always as hand symbol, never changes to arrow, mouse-over not working, etc.

Ah, it works zoomed way out so that all the caches are green boxes, but once I zoom in to where you see smilies, it's no go.

I have the same problem using Firefox 20.0.1. If i log out it works fine but once I am logged in, I cannot acces a cache!

same here on desktop and tablet. But it has now 18 Map Sources that I dont need, I guess Groundspeak call it a feature.

Most Updates make things more worse, great job, go ahead.

It works now, but my "hand" doesn't turn into a pointing finger yet. Just the name of the cache appears and I can click on the cache.

same problem for me in Chrome and IE, with both leaflet and google maps.

 

temporary work-around mentioned above works for me:

zoom out so that you can't see smileys from your finds - all the caches show up as green boxes. Then they are fully functional and clickable.

it is working now for the view I had before. The Site state is transferring data and after some minutes more caches show the info when hover over them. But I still dont see an improvement on this additional maps, OSM and OCM was good enough for me.

I will see tomorrow what it does to my mobile connection.

Still slow, still not working correctly. Caches take ages to show up if at all and then are not clickable for even longer. A serious downgrade NOT an upgrade.

I don't think that it is anything specific to the map. This morning, (PDT), the entire site has been having periods where it is so slow that it is simply unusable.

I always get this problem on a tablet when trying to use the maps. Its impossible to get the summary box up with the link. Its like the tablet doesn't let you do that (which may be the case).

Its always the same, not just with the current problems.

Still the same problem since the website update last week.

I am unable to click on any icon.

Besides that, the loading of the icons after moving the map or zooming in or out is very, very, very slow. It takes minutes for the icons to appear.

What is going on?

Is there a solution on his way?

Guys, my maps have been working properly since they said they fixed it last week. Have you tried a hard refresh? SHIFT+F5 in Firefox? Perhaps you have some bad javascript from when it was broken. If that doesn't work, close all of your tabs and make sure that the remaining tab is not a Groundspeak page, then clear your file cache/temp Internet files.

Today no cache at all is shown on the map! I tried it with different browsers (IE, chrome) on Windows 7 and with chrome on Android. Seems to be a problem on your servers site.

Please fix it as soon as possible!

Indeed, today is worse than ever. Unable to load caches, icons take ages to show up (more than 1 hour wait per map location!!!)

This is no fun anymore...

Did a hard refresh as suggested by 'Don_J' (Firefox Shift+F5, Shutdown and Restart Firefox). Although for the first loading of the site entry page, map page and a random geocache page (from the maps) it took a few extra seconds. The site now runs at its normal speedy self. Thanks 'Don_J'.
