cache magnet Posted February 14, 2003 Share Posted February 14, 2003 The other day my sister-in-law and I were just approaching our first cache of the day when she saw a man laying in the exact area where the cahce was. She swore the guy was not wearing any clothes, I was unsure. As we got closer it appeared that this guy was wearing a thong and nothing else. He had a pile of clothes laying next to him like he was on his lunch break and decided "hmmm mabye I will go to the local park and take off all my clothes and lay there for all to see". It isn't like this guy had found a private area in some trees he was viewable from the parking lot. The thing that bothered me the most was that this guy didn't even make an effort to cover his hairy crack as we walked by. So my question is what would you have done? If they see me, I might say 'hi' or something short and continue on my way. If they are near the cache I'll come back later so I don't 'expose' the cache position. On a darker note, I did catch a guy stalking a woman in a park near here. She was playing with her dog in the creek and he was watching from some bushes with his back to the trail. He was rather 'involved' with himself while watching her. I've always walked extremely quietly and he didn't hear me moving down the trail. I walked right up to his back about 3' away and said quite loudly 'You can put it away or I can have the cops help you'. He whipped his shorts up and took off across the creek right past the object of his affection. He never looked back. I came tearing through the brush after him to give him a good scare. Scared the hell out of the poor unawares girl too. I stopped to explain what had happened and said I'd escort her back to her car or call the cops if she'd like. I made a lot of noise and they disapeared. The next time was night at a clothing optional hot springs as is the tradition here in Idaho. No moon so I couldn't see a dadgum thing anyway, but it was fun. About 30' of us tossing around a light stick while soaking. some clothed, some not. So...I'd make my normal amount of noise like a rhino crashing through the forest and that would either have the guy ignore me or move on. Either way I would go about my business (unless he was gonig to watch me pull the cache) Wherever you go there you are. Quote Link to comment

As I was hiking with my daughter in the backpack, the sound of me coming obviously alerted them to my presence. NOT naked, but definately nude. We have a person who likes to sun in our community pool. He wears a thong. His attitude is that he is God's greatest gift and he should share as much of himself as possible. I and the other parents disagree, but the management says 'until they are specifically prohibited in the tules, he can do it. So the only recourse is direct confrontation. +InBrainWeTrust Posted June 28, 2003 Share Posted June 28, 2003 Not unlike Team Bohica's incident, when searching for a local cache, this happened: I noticed no one else was in the park, and since I was about to go through some underbrush and some river rocks, I was going to change my pants (Black Widows are very common in my neck of the woods). So I looked around, didn't see anyone, then just as I'm about to unbuckle my pants, I turn around, and a guy is facing the other way on the path! I was pretty spooked out, but I thought, "Oh well, I'll just risk getting bit and go down to where I think the cache is." I walk down, and he's standing there looking at the river! Keep in mind, this is a deserted park, and I'm only 17, so I felt a bit uncomfortable. After a while of looking around in other areas, and noticing he hadn't moved, and also noticing he had the persistent urge to grab his crotch , I outright asked him, "What are you doing here?" to see if he was a Geocacher too. He said, "Oh, just hanging out. You?" I said the same. So, I walked away a bit up the river, and he walked back to the path, and then when I walk back, he COMES BACK! So by then, I was completely spooked out, and I started to walk back to my car. Guess what he does? Starts walking back to his car! So I went to a nearby picnic table, sat down, pulled out my cell phone, and called my girlfriend (Newtie) to calm my nerves. Luckily, he left the area after that which gave me a couple minutes to hunt for the cache. If I've learned one thing, it's that if you go out alone, have some self-defense training or bring pepper spray or some deterrent. I have some self-defense training but I wasn't sure if I could take the guy if he grabbed me from behind or pulled a knife on me : And also, don't trust naked people!! Quote Link to comment

+flask Posted July 8, 2003 Share Posted July 8, 2003 i ran into a naked guy at a cache near a nude beach. it's on state land, and there are warnings on the description page AND at the trailhead that you might encounter nudity.. so i did what i guess you do.. i made small chitchat, and hoped he had a nice day. on the other hand, a stalker would bother me, and the guy should have been kneecapped. it doesn't matter if you get to camp at one or at six. dinner is still at six. Although I do agree with the training, less than lethal means usually dont cut it for me. Have you never seen a nude person other than yourselves before? Walking with my wife and two kids (5 & 9 yrs) back to my car after visiting a local cache (GCG5FC) the other evening, we walked past a man sitting in a classic lotus style possition, in the only sunny spot left on the beach, facing up the beach in the direction we were walking, and wearing nothing except a hat. As we walked by he picked up his coat (nothing else) and put it on. My wife said "getting a bit cold isn't it?" and he said yes. The kids couldn't have cared less one way or another. End of story. In Germany, on warm days, people on their lunch break will go to the local parks and strip down to absolutely nada and catch some sun. Naked girly mags are displayed right next to the comics, nothing covered up by plastic. Turn on half of the local TV channels past 10:00 p.m. and you'll get "Erotic Sports Videos" that feature naked chicks lifting weights. Nudity is accepted as a common way of life. Over here, a chick wears too small of a bikini and she gets tossed off the beach. A guy wears a thong to get some sun and he's shunned by others. What would I do? Ask him if he remembered his sun screen and remind him that some parts aren't as used to the sun as others. Maybe if people became a little more accepting of the natural state of things, humanity would be a little less tense in general. You've just been snideswiped. Quote Link to comment
