You can find them under Newest or Full Category List (then change the sort order to newest first) or at the bottom of the Category Grid in your profile. A new category temporarily inherits the icon of the department it is in. When there are enough new ones distinct icons are created for them. This has not happened for a while. Quote Link to comment

If a new category passes the peer review it has automatically the standard icon from the root category. The early category icons were designed by Koko now someone else has to do them. In the past they have been designed periodically; I think it's now time for some new ones. Quote Link to comment
+Benchmark Blasterz Posted April 16, 2013 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Category icons are FUN and frequently FUNNY -- they certainly are creative and even witty visual clues to a particular category's uniqueness. Blasterz *LOVE* category icons!! :) They are part of the fun of WM. Add us to those who hope to see new ones soon. What would be a witty icon for a Time Ball? Maybe 1200 gun Would be easier to represent. Hmmmm For preserved machines we think maybe a gear in an ice cube with a little WM stick figure guy would be fun -- you can see a machine frozen in time Blasterz have little artistic drawing ability, but we know what we like Quote Link to comment
