Thing Sites GeoTour

 

This is the first European GeoTour and our first ever trans-national GeoTour. It goes across Scotland, Iceland, Norway, the Faroe Islands and the Isle of Man. This GeoTour went live in early November 2012.

 

Things, from the Old Norse "þing," are historic assembly sites found throughout northern Europe as a result of our shared Norse heritage. Follow in the footsteps of the Vikings and explore the landscapes and traditions which surround these fascinating sites.

For information, I have a Thing-related cache at Thynghowe, Robin Hood and the Thing. I don't think it's on the tour, however.

 

The other Thinkg cache I know of, which is on the tour and sited just against where I work (IOM) seems to have gone missing long-term. But there are caches close to the Tynwald sites elsewhere on the island.
