OS maps for Garmin 62 st

I have found out today that I can buy OS maps for my Garmin 62st. If I buy this, will my friend be able to load them onto his Magellan as well, thus halving the cost of £19.99?

I don't know what OS maps are, but generally maps are designed for a specific make of GPS. Therefore, a map for a Garmin usually won't work for a Magellan.

There are free maps available for Garmin GPSr units at the following link. I have a 62s and used them last year in Canada and the USA. (I live in Australia.) They work well. I can't help your friend with the Magellan though.

You might be better off putting this in the UK forum where folks will know what an OS map is a bit more reliably :-)

 

I can't answer your question because I don't know, although if it's a product such as memory map then I suppose it might be possible.

In a word, no.

 

If you want OS mapping, but would like cheep -FREE- take a look in the UK and Ireland forums for talkytoasters Open Street Maps maps.

 

They still won't work on a Magellan though!
