Guest Chris Juricich
thways, stepping on rare bushes and endangered plants, spreading our weird civilization even further. Whew. Wake up, Chris! Right now it's a bunch of fairly independent minded individuals having fun. Here in Berkeley and environs, we have one of the greatest natural resource parks ever-- Tilden right behind us and so very few of us take advantage of its bounty as it is. While I encourage folks learning about their environment and the natural beauty and hidden views available off the asphalt path most folks take, I'm reticent to push it even further. Am I being selfish or am I being ecological? And organizing? I kinda like the notion of the relative few number of us currently stumbling around inthe bush finding these little caches. Before you know it I picture an AC bus filled with people getting dropped off at trailheads armed with their Garmins and Magellans, seeking out McDonald's burger toys and the like. Brr-rr-r-rrr!! Guest Markwell
Actually in terms of "Organized Geocaching" I think this thread was more for events like this... http://www.foxhallcup.com/geocache/ We did have a pot stirrer in here a while ago looking for a governing body for Geocaching, but that went the way of the dodo in Darwinism.
