Guest WJJagfan
I haven't been involved long, but I am generally impressed with the integrity of most GeoCachers. I haven't heard many complaints of stolen caches, and generally I feel there are good hearts out there tracking down treasures. I would think that a Charitable organization would do well with a GeoCache asking for donations large or small in exchange for: A-a challenging, well placed cache, in a stunning location. B- a pin, token or some other small trinket (sp?) from the charity. C- promotion of a good cause. I doubt it would rake in millions, but every little bit helps, right? Quote Link to comment
Guest makaio
This is a good idea, but would require the organization placing the cache visit it often to retrieve the donations and restock it with tokens/trinkets. Otherwise, some not-so-honest cacher may decide to trade a cheap toy for a $20 bill I know of a hostel back in Loudoun County, VA which is located along the Blue Ridge mountains (near Mt Weather) and has a section of the Appalachain trail running through it's property. There is a rock outcropping with a magnificent view of the Shenendoah Valley there and they always welcome the public to park and walk to the site free of charge. This would make an excellent location for such a cache. Maybe I'll discuss it with them when I go home to visit next month Quote Link to comment
