madasa123
Hi Am new to this and would appreciate some help please. Technology is not my strong point. I have created my first pocket query. It appears on my computer, my app on my smartphone and my app on my Nexus 7 so I know it exists. I connected my Dakota 20 to my computer, right clicked on the file and pressed 'send to Dakota 20' I cannot find it on my GPS anywhere. When I go to Geocaches there is just the one Geocache that I downloaded individually. I hope that makes sense......please can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thank you Quote Link to comment
Team Taran
Transfer to GPS only sends 1 cache at a time. I believe with the Garmin attached to your computer you can drag and drop the unzipped pq from your computer to the proper folder on your GPSR. Quote Link to comment
madasa123
Thank you for your reply. I am afraid to say I wouldn't even know where to find the proper folder on my gps I will have another go Quote Link to comment
madasa123
I have just tried to drag and drop the unzipped file into my GPS and a box comes up to say this file already exists in the location I am trying to drop it to ... Quote Link to comment
Gitchee-Gummee
You need to access the Garmin as an auxiliary drive on the computer first. You can then access the mSD card if that is where you wish to place the PQ (GPX file). Read and follow the directions here: http://www.follow-the-arrow.co.uk/ A very good tutorial designed and aimed at U.K. usage. Quote Link to comment
madasa123
Thank you When I do access the Garmin as an auxiliary drive on the computer it tells me the file already exists. I am trying to save it directly to the device , I do not have an SD card in it. Perhaps that is where I am going wrong! I will look at the tutorial and persevere. Thanks again Quote Link to comment

Thanks again It isn't necessary to have an SD card. The files will be held in mass storage in a folder named Garmin/GPX. Quote Link to comment
madasa123
Thank you I have found the files and I send to GPS. I watch it download...I just can't find it on the GPS itself. There is still only one geocache listed under 'geocaches'. Think I will give up for today and try again tomorrow. Thanks for your time Quote Link to comment
madasa123
Done it! Just hope I can remember how I did it! Thanks for the help Quote Link to comment
StarBrand
The unzipped GPX file needs to go into the [drive]:\garmin\gpx folder on the device. Quote Link to comment
