The Fellmen
Can anyone suggest how I can find some one willing to take over a cache that I own. Due to some health problems I am unable to maintain a cache that is in a fairly remote position, it seemed like a good idea at the time when I placed it, but now I am unable to get to it, it doesn't seem so clever. Unfortunately I do not know any cacher whom I could ask. Regards The Fellmen Quote Link to comment
+littleblkdog
I would recommend finding a local group and posting in the GC forums for that region or going to that local groups webpage and posting on their forum. We have had good success doing adoptions this way in my area. The GC forums by region are at http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showforum=51 Quote Link to comment
Keystone
You can also post a adoption offer note on your cache page, and edit an adoption offer into the cache description (for people who read descriptions but not logs). Quote Link to comment

Normally I would also suggest offering it to someone who owns another nearby cache, but it seems there really aren't any 'nearby' Quote Link to comment
+niraD
Another approach is to reread the logs to see if the cache was particularly special to anyone. Maybe it was the first cache someone found, or first cache they found with their spouse, or whatever. Or you could look at the people who have given it Favorites points. It might be special enough to some of these people that they would be willing to adopt it and maintain it. Quote Link to comment
