+Cincinnati Bearcaches
Always been interested in organizing some sort of rally/race. Cannonball run sort of, but the idea would be to visit the greatest # of states over a given period of time. Now that Ive started geocaching, I think this may be the perfect vehicle. There could either be specific caches in each state that the finder must go to, or more feasibly--just find any cache in as many states as possible. My initial thought would be to do it over any 7 day period(not everyone would have to start simultaneously) within a 2 month window. Each contestant donates an item or cash to build a "winners cache" Winner would be the one who found caches in the most states, tiebreaker would be number of caches in the time frame. As with geocaching, winning would be secondary to the journey. Details to be worked out, but would there be enough diehards who would want to do this? Quote Link to comment
AlphaOp
It would be cool if the main GPS manufacturers (Garmin, Loran, Magellan, etc...) would get together and sponsor something like this. Maybe the Discovery channel could air it too, that would be so cool. +GPS Guy
Sounds like fun... As long as no one is racing down the streets. [This message was edited by Marc G. on April 10, 2003 at 08:20 AM.] Quote Link to comment
