Compatibility Warning- No Compass

I really want to get geocaching,but when im on the app details screen I get a warning saying "Some features in this application might not work because your phone doesn't have: -Compass"

 

Does anyone know of any solutions to this, like if i downloaded a compass app would that work?

 

I have a Nokia Lumia 610 on Windows Phone 7.5

 

Like I said I'm super keen to get stuck into Geocahing so your comments are very much appreciated!

Sounds like a hardware issue, not something you can D/L an app to remedy.

 

There is a chance you can still find caches, though. It will probably be more difficult.

Funny...I just looked at a site purporting to have the specifications for that phone, and 'COMPASS' is listed!

 

Perhaps there is a problem with the Geocaching app not being able to FIND the compass in your device?

 

Sounds like a Bug Report is in order.

I don't have a Windows phone, so I won't pretend to know what I'm talking about, but I wonder if the compass can be turned off in the operating system? That could explain why the app can't see it.

Yes, that might be it!

 

The OP might try "activating" and calibrating the compass, then when it seems to be working OK, switch to the App and see if it works:
