herne2 and Cara the Geodog
Is there anyway that you can put co-ordinates into the iphone app, say if you're doing a true off-set multi. I've looked and looked to no avail. Thanks Quote Link to comment
TeamBarnesUK
I couldn't find a way to do this either. I downloaded a free app called 'coordinates' which will direct you to the coordinates you input. I would like to know if there is a way of doing it with the Geocache app though?? +Chief301
I'm assuming you're talking about the official Groundspeak app. Depending on which version you're using (the layout changed slightly with the latest update): Old version- while actively navigating to a cache (map view), there's a little flag icon in the upper right corner, next to the Compass button. Tap that and a screen will come up that lets you enter coordinates. When done tap "Done" and a little flag will be pinned on the map at that location. Tap it and select "Set as Target" New version- while navigating in map view, there's a button in the upper right with 3 little dots on it. Tap that. Select "Add Waypoint". Rest of procedure is same as above. Lots of people have trouble locating this function at first, I've probably answered this question about 50 times now 😊 Edited February 21, 2013 by Chief301 Quote Link to comment
herne2 and Cara the Geodog
Thanks Chief301. A wonderful answer and one that has saved me much head scratching. You wouldn't believe how many times I've come close to lobbing my phone into the nearest swamp or other non iphone friendly place. Thanks again Quote Link to comment
bearhugger1972
Thanks Chief301. I came to the forum to find out if adding waypoints was possible as I've been reluctant to do multi's before. Now I know how easy it is I can go for a few local premium multi caches. Quote Link to comment
steppe-up
My thanks, also, Chief301! I struggled with this issue & resorted to getting a caching tool App that accepts coordinates. The function you explained is much easier Quote Link to comment
hallycat
I had to come look for this yesterday. I am going to request it be made a sticky in this forum! Thanks by the way. Quote Link to comment
samuelleonard
Thank you so much Chief. I had no idea how to do this. I always got mad when I couldn't, but now I can! Quote Link to comment
