+wildniagara
I just started goe-caching and was given a gift of a travel bug dog tag from new friend bushshaun. I would like to know how to pinpoint the exact opposite side of Earth so I can mail this tag to a fellow geocaching member to place in a nearby cache and watch it on it's travel back to my debut cache just enabled this morning. I have the formula for finding the area of a sphere but I'm not exactly sure how to use Lat Longs to find this position and search for a cache. Anyone know how? Thanks in advance WildNiagara (Dan) Quote Link to comment
+The Blorenges
Have fun with this: Antipodes interactive map MrsB (Very often your opposite point is in the middle of the sea!) Edited February 17, 2013 by The Blorenges Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
Sorry, it looks like your "opposite end of the earth" is a bit SW of Australia. Postal service probably is somewhat lacking. Yallingup would be the nearest community. Perth would be the largest "nearby" community, but we're still talking hundreds of miles. Neat idea though. Quote Link to comment

GOF and Bacall
How do I find the opposite side of Earth? Grab a shovel and start digging? Quote Link to comment
AZcachemeister
How do I find the opposite side of Earth? Grab a shovel and start digging? I knew someone would say that! Better be a fireproof shovel, eh? Quote Link to comment

Thanks in advance WildNiagara (Dan) Latitude: flip sign (N becomes S or S becomes N). Longitude: add (or subtract) 180°. Quote Link to comment
