+Yeah_meoW
Does anyone have a map they use to search for benchmarks? I was using the following: http://beta.ngs.noaa.gov/googletest/NGSMap/NGSMap.shtml However, for some reason it seems to be broken. I've tried on multiple computers and cannot close the "getting started" menu box, which means I cannot search for benchmarks I've been using the above NGS map for the past 6-8 months, worked great, once I got the PID numbers I would look them up on geo-caching by pasting the PID number to the end of this link http://www.geocaching.com/mark/details.aspx?PID= Anyway, I'm looking for something similar to the NGS map if there's anything out there please post a link. +billwallace
Or this file for Google Earth: http://ngs.tsqmadness.com/ge/benchmark_150.kmz website: Google Earth Survey Marker & USGS Map Overlays | TSQMadness.com Quote Link to comment
+Yeah_meoW
Thanks for the help guys. The Google earth map its pretty awesome especially with the topographic overlay. The only downside is the lag when loading if you zoom in or move around. After digging a bit more through google search I came across this map also by NGS, which works quite well. The beta map I liked a bit more but this one offers the same ease of use. http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/CORS-Proxy/NGSDataExplorer/ Edited January 23, 2013 by Yeah_meoW Quote Link to comment

You are using the Beta test site, go to the official site----> National Geodetic Survey Data Explorer Edited January 23, 2013 by Z15 Quote Link to comment

+Team Punkydifle
Thanks for the links....they allowed me to determine the benchmark that I found last month. I had taken pictures but was unsure of how to find out exactly what benchmark it was. Again, thanks for the links, they helped alot! Quote Link to comment
