+Chasing Blue Sky
I tried to create one in the style of other icons related to plaques, what do you think? Yes, that's it - and cleaned version - Very nice! Quote Link to comment

Now I will finish the states. If there are some other icons we should improve let me know. Waychapels as example have the same church icon like many other churches. Ummm, well, since you asked... Hold on, let me put on my OCD hat: Once you're finished with the states, you might consider doing the same with the Canadian Provincial Historical Markers. Currently, they all appear to use the Canadian maple leaf flag. While it is appropriate, it is also quite generic. It might be more descriptive for the Canadian Provinces to have their own flag in the icon. Just a suggestion, if you're up to it. OK, now I'll put on my OCD glasses, as well. Actually, there are a group of category icons that bug me. OK, not the categories, just the icons. I'm talking about the Bookcrossing Zones, Wikipedia Entries, Literary Sites, & Guest Books icons. They all use the exact same icon. Even if each used the same graphic of the book, but were different colors, that would be better. However, I do have a few suggestions. Maybe for the guest books, we could do something like this. Not exactly that, but something similar - open book, with a pen. Maybe the Literary Sites could have a book or books with a quill pen across it, similar to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places icon, but with a book and maybe a different colored pen. Maybe you could take a crack at replicating the Wikipedia (puzzle ball) icon on the Wikipedia website, in the upper left corner of the page. Of course your work space might be too small to pull that off. Maybe there is another icon on the website that would be suitable. Maybe the Bookcrossing Zones icon could be like the Crossing Sign icon that is on the BookCrossing website. I'm sure someone has better ideas on providing icons that will make these icons unique and appropriate for the individual categories. Well, I'm starting to feel a little too comfortable in my OCD hat and OCD glasses. I'm going to have to take them off now. Thanks for listening! Quote Link to comment
+RakeInTheCache
My Buddhist temple category actually has a Shinto temple as its icon. An icon with the Buddha might be nicer instead. Also my Monuments Historiques category has a generic French flag icon. Would be nice to change this to the symbol used by the agency (see the category long description for an example) Nice that someone is paying closer attention to this. Quote Link to comment

+lumbricus
I want to say thanks to all of you. As a team we did a good job with our icons. I'll think about some in the future, like Wikipedia, guestbooks and some churches, thanks Dave for your input. For sure I'll work also on the Canadian ones and the missing US states. -lumbricus Quote Link to comment

Sorry for the delay in responding, yes you picked the right icon. Definitely an improvement although the round "towers" on the sides could be a bit more pronounced. +NW_history_buff
HELP! The Free Community Book Exchanges category is in need of an icon. I'd like it to be clean and crisp and not a shrunk down image. I like the quality of the Insect Hotels icon. Anyone want to create one and post it here? I'm embarrassed saying this because I'm a graphic artist but changed jobs and don't have the software nor the time to mess around with creating one. Thanks! Quote Link to comment

razalas
I have been trying to create some icons that are missing in the new categories, and here they are: Graves of Unusual Deaths Draw Wells or An alternative version. Feeding the Animals A few posts ago lumbricus suggested to use the icon of the Petting Farms and Zoos category, I tried to create another so the category have a unique icon. Historic Transformer Sub-Stations Buildings or An alternative version. UNESCO Biosphere Reserves or An alternative version. Timelines or An alternative version. What do you think of the icons (or the alternative versions)? Quote Link to comment
+lumbricus
Nice, good work! For Unesco I would choose the second one, I like both wells so both are okay, 'Historic Transformer Sub-Stations Buildings' please fi67 choose one, 'Timelines' perhaps the first one? Thanks again! -lumbricus Quote Link to comment
+fi67
Great ones! All of them! I prefer the second version of the transformer station icons. For draw wells I like the first one more, but maybe that is geographically biased, they look more like that where I live. I am unsure for UNESCO. The first one fits better to all the rest of the icons, but it is not clear that it is about biospheres and not heritage sites. The second one is clearer in this respect, but the style is a bit different. Quote Link to comment
+T0SHEA
Hi Razalas, Thanks for the suggested icons for the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve category. We like the second one the best. Quote Link to comment
