+lancs-sue
I am going to Malta next month and have loaded all the caches. Some of them have photos. I have a Garmin 62st. Could someone please let me know how to view them, There are numbers under the description but no photos. Quote Link to comment
+eusty
mmm...I'm not sure. There is a macro in GSAK to do this, but not sure if you can without it. Quote Link to comment
AZcachemeister
The 62st doesn't have a camera. Without the ability to TAKE pictures, I can't imagine why Garmin would include the ability to view them. Quote Link to comment
+eusty
It can!! Even my old Colorado 300 could view pictures Quote Link to comment
+Cardinal Red
An Oregon 450t can NOT take photos, but I can easily just drop a jpg into the GARMIN/JPEG folder. And then access them with the Photo Viewer. Quote Link to comment
+derektiffany
I don't know about the 62st, but the following works on many Garmin devices: http://garmin.blogs.com/softwareupdates/2012/01/geocaching-with-photos.html Specifically, files can be placed in the following folders on device: Photos \Garmin\GeocachePhotos\Last Character\Second To Last Character\Full Code\ Spoiler Photos <Photos Path>\Spoilers\ For example, photos for a geocache with code OXZTXGC would be placed under the path \Garmin\GeocachePhotos\C\G\OXZTXGC\ And spoilers would be placed under \Garmin\GeocachePhotos\C\G\OXZTXGC\Spoilers As noted above, there are GSAK macros that will download photos and place in appropriate folder(s) on the device. However, the above can be done manually. Try it out with one photo and see if it works. Quote Link to comment
+lancs-sue
Thank you so much for this! I have followed the first link and followed the blog but still the "show photos" tab isn't showing on my GPS. I have now emailed Garmin support as their tutorial seems to imply that it can be done. Will now spend the next few hours trying your other suggestion! Quote Link to comment
+lancs-sue
once again thank you so much. I have now managed to upload the photos I need. Certainly not as easy as just clicking a download button but certainly doable! Quote Link to comment
+derektiffany
Glad that worked for you, thanks for the update! I agree the process is a bit "cumbersome" and don't use it often myself ... but good to know it's there. There's a couple of local "field puzzle" type images I've dumped to my GPS that way.
