dutchstream
How do I set a Droid to have the compass point toward a cache. There is a 15 degree error. Is it realistic to use a Droid for geocaching? Quote Link to comment
+stijnhommes
Is there an error because you have a cache that is not at the posted coordinates, or because the device is no longer accurate. If the second is the case, you should recalibrate. Quote Link to comment
+NeverSummer
Also, the compass really only works when you are moving. If you want more accuracy with hunting geocaches, consider an actual GPS unit Quote Link to comment
+maxx borchovski
I use an Android based HTC One X with great success. I find that walking at the area from two directions usually gives me a pretty close hit for the coordinates. Also remember that the satnav system is not that accurate. You will always have anywhere up to 2-4 meter margin of error on any device. The GPS or smart phone should be used to get you to the general area of the cache. From that point onwards you should deploy your Mk1 eyeball for the final search. Quote Link to comment
