Hi

I am using the latest version of Firefox and Win 7

I downloaded some GCs yesterday but today I get the 'The plug-in was not unlocked successfully' message when i click on the 'SEND TO GPS' option on the CG map.

I've installed the Garmin communicator and the plug in and on the Garmin page it says

Communicator Plugin is properly installed and up to date.

Version: 4.0.4.0.

Garmin GPS device is detected and communicating properly:

GPS60 (Unit ID 3501100426)

Why wont it let me send to GPS?

I have tried rebooting and disabling and re-enabling the plugin

Thanks in advance for any help.

Usually, it's an issue with the URL.

The plugin is dependent on the URL that was registered for it.

What do you see in the url? https://www.geocaching.com or just www.geocaching.com?

If you see https://..., that's the issue.

Remove the https:// and then hit enter.

You should now see only www.geocaching.com and it should work.

It seems a though Groundspeak didn'tr register the https://-URL for the plugin.

Yep, that worked.

Many thanks

You're welcome.

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago and it took me a while to figure it out, including working through Garmin's developer-documentation for the plugin. :-)

So, always glad to help with the knowledge I gained there.

I have reviewed the issues with the message "The plug-in was not unlocked successfully" and have tried the suggestion to remove https from the URL. The URL in question is the one that comes up when selecting PLAY/View Geocache Map. I'm unable to view the map without https being part of the URL. This problem started yesterday 5/14/2014. I would use a pocket query but have had no end of frustration getting files loaded into my GPS that the GPS can read. I use a Mac and have tried MacCacher but the instructions for any of the pocket query do not go into enough detail to result in successful loading of caches. Any suggestions? Can you direct me to Mac specific detailed instructions? Thanks for your time. MYCRICKET

I've noticed the same issue, however, only when I try to load caches directly from the map. When I open the cache page and load the coords from there it's no problem. Looking at the map again: it always seems to refer to https instead of http. Hmmm...

I have the same problem. The cache from the browser (firefox) can just be send to the gps (garmin dakota) if I open the cache, then the http:// is not there.

pure mad service for a premium membership! Dear Geocaching: this is a really mad service!
